Valens Mbarushimana got his master of public health from the University of Rwanda School/Public Health in 2011. Also, he completed a bachelor of education in educational psychology at the former National University of Rwanda in 2004.
Currently, Valens Mbarushimana is assistant researcher for the University of Rwanda College of Medicine and Health Sciences from February 2013. He is appointed in the Research Centre of the College, coordinating the postgraduate studies wing. He enjoys writing research projects, conduct data collection and analysis at the College level. He also serves as a facilitator for the units of biostatistics, epidemiology, public health and research methodology.
Prior to joining faculty, Valens served as head of students’ exams at the former Kigali Health Institute (KHI) since March 2007. There he got a six –year experience in coordinating the preparation and collection of students’ exams, their administration and invigilation, as well as marking.
Also, Valens served as a social welfare professional at local administration level after serving in a secondary school, which he had started in 2005.
Valens believes that education is the right way for social transformation and behavior change. He likes listening to others and dislikes injustice. Learning from others and experience will remain his passion. Unity in diversity is his motto.
