Sonti is a public health and community physiotherapy lecturer in the physiotherapy department, the University of the Witwatersrand. She obtained a Master’s in Public health in 2013 and holds a BSc. Honors in Biochemistry and a BSc. in Physiotherapy. Her MSC research was on the knowledge and practices of HIV in people with disabilities. Her research interest areas include health promotion and issues that affect people with disabilities, e.g., health outcomes for people with disabilities and barriers experienced by people with disabilities that contribute to community participation restriction. She is a member of the Health professional council South Africa (HPCSA) and the South African Society of Physiotherapy. Sonti is currently pursuing her PhD at the University of Witwatersrand.
