Godwin Anywar is an Assistant Lecturer, Department of Biological Sciences, Makerere University, Uganda. He is currently pursuing his PhD under the Consortium for Advanced Research Training in Africa (CARTA) fellowship. Godwin’s interests are in Medicinal & Poisonous plants, and how they can be harnessed to improve the livelihoods of local communities. He also has special interests in nutraceutical plants especially the Neglected and Underutilised Species (NUS) of Uganda in particular and Africa generally. Godwin has been involved in malaria research and how to improve local herbal medicines and validate their utilization through clinical trials and is also a conservationist and participates in value addition of natural product development. He holds an MSc, topic, Ethnobotanical research of medicinal plants used for treating malaria in different parts of Uganda. Godwin is actively involved in formulating and developing different natural products, which include herbal teas for different ailments, mosquito repellents, and skin ointments, among others and has several publications to his name.
