“Olusola OLAWOYE (M.D, MSc, FWACS, FMCOph) Affiliation: Senior Lecturer and Glaucoma Specialist, Department of Ophthalmology, College of Medicine, University of Ibadan, NIGERIA Interest:  Angle closure disease in Africa, Exfoliation Syndrome/Exfoliation Glaucoma in Sub-saharan Africa, Juvenile Open Angle glaucoma in West Africa, Surgical management of glaucoma in West Africa. Ongoing research on the use of tube shunts and lasers in Nigeria Organizational and Leadership Positions: I am a fellow of the West African College of Surgeons and the Medical College of Ophthalmology in Nigeria with a clinical fellowship in glaucoma. I am a member of the Association for Research and Vision (ARVO), a member of the Glaucoma Society of Nigeria and the Ophthalmological Society of Nigeria (OSN). I am a past social secretary of the Medical and Dental Consultants of Nigeria, and I chaired the local organizing committee of the World Glaucoma Week in 2011 and 2013 and 2014. l am also the current financial secretary of the Academic Staff Union of Universities in Ibadan. I am involved in residency training in Ophthalmology and fellowship training in glaucoma in Nigeria. I am currently a PhD student at the Department of Epidemiology University of Ibadan Nigeria and a CARTA fellow Special Honors Recipient of the Sandwich fellowship award of the International Council of Ophthalmology (ICO), and AFER/ARVO Host a Researcher Award 2010. I was an invited speaker at the World Ophthalmology Congress 2012, World Glaucoma Congress 2013 and APAO Congress in 2013, WGC 2017. Recipient of the Yasuo Tano award at the APAO conference in India. Best Poster Presentation, 36thOphthalmological Society of Nigeria Conference Lagos, Council Lecturer, 2010 (Named lecture) Ophthalmological Society of Nigeria. I was also awarded the Professor Emeritus Toriola Solanke ‘Caesar’award for Best Research in 2007 and the best candidate at the Part 1 Fellowship examinations of the Nigerian Post-Graduate Medical College in 2005. I am currently a member of the Board of Governors of the World Glaucoma Association”
