Postdoctoral opportunities to apply in Canada, UK

  1. The University of Waterloo, one of Canada’s premier research-intensive universities, is inviting interested applicants for various postdoctoral positions.   2. Apply for the position of Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Birmingham. Ideally, the social scientist research fellow will work for an interdisciplinary project looking at a systems approach to air pollution in East Africa. The Research Fellow will be based in the City-Region Economic Development Institute (City-REDI) to work on a project funded by the East African Research Fund (ERDF) on the development of a systems approach to air pollution in East Africa. The successful applicant must work with other members of the team in the UK and Africa on developing a social science approach to understanding air pollution in three cities (Nairobi, Kampala and Addis Ababa). More details here.

Commonwealth Rutherford Fellowships: A new programme supporting talented researchers from across the Commonwealth to conduct innovative and impactful research at UK universities is now open for applications. Commonwealth Rutherford Fellowships are for highly skilled researchers from other Commonwealth countries to spend one or two years at an eligible UK university conducting postdoctoral research. Intended Beneficiaries: Highly skilled and highly motivated PhD graduates whose proposed research topic is innovative, timely, and likely to lead to wider impact beyond the academic community and build research collaboration between the UK and other Commonwealth countries. More details here. Deadline: 11 December 2017.
