Kikelomo Aboyowa Mbada is a Lecturer I in the Department of Political Science, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife where she bagged both her MSc. And Ph.D degrees in Political Science. Her research interests are in health policy, political economy and development studies. Her Ph.D. research investigated the political economic bases of disparities in maternal health policy and policy implementation at the subnational level in Nigeria and provided policy prescriptions on maternal mortality, an issue that remains one embarrassing blight on the African political economy. Dr. Mbada has published in reputable peer-reviewed journals. She is a cohort 5 fellow of the Consortium for Advanced Research Training in Africa (CARTA) and has benefited from the Partnership for African Social and Governance Research (PASGR) grants. Dr. Mbada is a member of the Nigerian Political Science Association and the Organization for Women in Science for the Developing World (OWSD). Beyond her PhD, she plans to pursue a post-doctoral fellowship, and in the long term, grow a career in the political economy of health and distributive health policies as a specialty area in Political Science.
