Biography:

Nomfundo Moroe, PhD, is a lecturer and current Head of Discipline (Audiology) at the University of the Witwatersrand. She is part of the Department of Higher Education and Training’s Ngap programme – a programme that involves the recruitment of highly capable scholars as new academics, against carefully designed and balanced equity considerations and in light of the disciplinary areas of greatest need. She is a passionate researcher, with an interest in Occupational Audiology, Complex Interventions, Deaf culture and Deafblindness. She is a CARTA Fellow (Consortium for Advanced Research Training in Africa), a highly competitive programme that trains young and emerging researchers in Africa. She is currently conducting post-doctoral research which is funded by this consortium. She has published several peer-reviewed articles, and has presented at both national and international conferences
