My name is Oluwaseun O. Akinyemi, a public health physician, an academic and CARTA PhD fellow. I graduated from the University of Ilorin medical school, Nigeria about 18 years ago and subsequently had my postgraduate medical training at the University College Hospital Ibadan, Nigeria where I bagged the fellowship of the West African College of Physicians (FWACP). I was subsequently appointed consultant public health physician in the same hospital. In addition, I hold master’s degrees in international public health from the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine, environmental health from the University of Ibadan, and an MBA from the Obafemi Awolowo University Ile-Ife, Nigeria. Furthermore, I hold a Level 4 certificate in teaching and facilitation from the City & Guilds of London. Also, I am a fellow of the Royal Society for Public Health (FRSPH) of the United Kingdom. Currently, I am a Senior Lecturer in Health Policy and Management as well as the Head, Department of Health Policy and Management, Faculty of Public Health, College of Medicine, University of Ibadan, Nigeria. My research interest spans health systems, health policy analysis, and implementation science. I completed my Ph.D. programme in public health from the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg in 20. My Ph.D. thesis is titled is “Scale up of community-based injectable contraceptives in Gombe State, Nigeria”. After the completion of my Ph.D., I hope for a post-doctoral position, in a reputable institution, that will help me consolidate my skills in implementation research and health policy analysis.
