Cheikh is the Head of the African Population and Health Research Center, West Africa Regional Office, based in Dakar, Senegal. Cheikh has 14 years of experience working on the design and implementation of evaluation and research projects in Senegal and other countries in West Africa. He was the Country Manager for the Measurement, Learning, and Evaluation project in Senegal where he provided leadership and technical guidance on research conception, training, fieldwork management, data analyses, and reporting. Prior to joining APHRC, Cheikh worked as a Program Manager at Agence Pour la Promotion des Activities de Population – Senegal (APAPS), where he led several evaluation research on HIV/AIDS, Family Planning, and Maternal Health. Cheikh’s research interests include Maternal and Child Health, Reproductive Health, Poverty, and local development.
