Fredrick holds a BED (Hons) in Geography and History and M.A. in Settlement Geography from Kenyatta University. Prior to joining Moi University, he worked as a lecturer in the Department of Social Sciences at the University College of Education, Zanzibar from February 2006 to April 2009. He has taught at Moi University since April 2009. He is currently the Institutional Attachment Co-ordinator as well as the acting seminar co-ordinator in the Department of Geography of Moi University. His major field of specialization is Settlement Geography with a bias in Urban Geography.

His research interests include Urban Population, Climate Variability and Public Health. Other areas of research interest are Urban Housing with emphasis on Gender Dynamics and Geography Education. He is currently pursuing a PhD in Geography at Moi University. His research title for the PhD project is “Urban Residents’ Perception of Climate Change as a Human Health Risk in Kenya: The Case of Kisumu and Mombasa Urban Centers”. Career vision is to achieve excellence in social research, teaching and consultancy specializing in sustainable urban development with emphasis on climate change, population health, gender and shelter issues.
