Kellen is a Research Associate and teaching assistant at the School of Public Health, University of Nairobi. She holds a Master of Public Health Degree from the University of Nairobi and a Bachelor’s Degree in Biochemistry from the Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology. She is currently pursuing a PhD in Public Health. She has participated in Health Systems Research under the Africa Hub Project, by building capacity among multidisciplinary groups of students, to innovatively develop low cost innovative solutions to healthcare delivery problems. She has experience in conducting community research on Non-community diseases in rural and urban informal settlements. She mentors both undergraduate students from multiple disciplines towards development of innovative solutions to health problems and post-graduate students during their final year of study, through proposal development. Her research interest is in community health which forms an integral part of the health system and a proxy for a healthy population.
