Bio:

Nkosiyazi Dube is registered with the University of Witwatersrand, Johannesburg as a PhD candidate. He is a sessional lecturer in the Department of Social Work, School of Human and Community Development, University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg. He holds a Bachelor of Social Work and a Master’s Degree in Social Work (Social Development) from the University of the Witwatersrand. Nkosiyazi was selected as a Mellon Fellow in 2009 at Wits University, and he is an Alumnus at the Bowdoin Office of Special Academic Programs. Nkosiyazi is currently coordinating the Sociological Foundations of Health Course and the Academic Development Programme at Wits’ Department of Social Work and in the Sociology Department. Nkosiyazi’s research interests are in Poverty and Health, Paediatrics HIV/AIDS and Social Protection and Social Security in Southern Africa. He is affiliated to the Social Science Research Council (SSRC) through the Mellon Mays Graduate Initiatives Program and is a member of the South African Council for Social Service Professions. Nkosiyazi currently has four papers that are published in peer-reviewed and accredited journals.
