Adesola is a Senior Medical Research Fellow and Consultant Physician at the Institute of Child Health, University of Ibadan (UI) and University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan Nigeria. She obtained her primary degree – Bachelors of Medicine and Surgery (MBBS) from the prestigious University of Ibadan and undertook residency training in Community Medicine/ Public Health in UCH, Ibadan. She coordinates the postgraduate programmes run in the Institute of Child Health and the Adolescent Health component of the MPH (Child and Adolescent health) programme. Her research interests are in adolescent and young people’s health specifically focusing on epidemiology and risk factors for non-communicable conditions (intentional and unintentional injuries including traditional and cyberbullying, traffic and sporting injuries) and health risk behaviors (substance use, unsafe sex) among adolescents. She has also worked extensively in injury prevention. She has a keen interest in research incorporating the use of m-health interventions among adolescents and other populations. She has expertise in quantitative and qualitative research methods, and in the use of various data analysis software. Adesola has a passion for mentoring students and younger faculty and the CARTA PhD model has been particularly useful. She has been the principal investigator on a number of studies and has published the findings of my research in various peer-review journals.
