Biography:

Cheikh is a Senior Research Officer at African Population and Health Research Center. He holds a Master’s degree in Statistics (2001) from the Houari Boumediene University of Sciences and Technology (Algiers, Algeria). Cheikh has 14 years of experience working on designing and implementing evaluation and research projects in Senegal and other countries in West Africa. He was the Country Manager for the Measurement, Learning and Evaluation project in Senegal where he provided leadership and technical guidance on research conception, training, fieldwork management, data analyses and reporting. Prior to joining APHRC, Cheikh worked as a Program Manager at Agence Pour la Promotion des Activites de Population – Senegal (APAPS), where he led several evaluation researches on HIV/AIDS, Family Planning and Maternal Health. Cheikh’s research interests include Maternal and Child Health, Reproductive Health, Poverty and local development.
