Program Coordinator- CARTA

Dr. Cavens Kithinji

Cavens provides coordination support to CARTA Program. He is the liaison person in the iCARTA project that is working to institutionalize CARTA interventions in postgraduate training among its partners. He coordinates the Virtual Academy activities for CARTA. He also collaborates with the entire APHRC team on various fronts to achievement the organizational goals. Cavens holds a PhD in Project Planning and Management, specializing in monitoring and evaluation and a Master’s Degree in the same field, both from the University of Nairobi. He has a Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Moi University. Previously, Cavens has worked in various stations as a teacher, trainer and administrator in high schools in Kenya before joining PAC University as a Lecturer, where he headed the Department of Community Development. He later moved to head the Administration and Planning Division of the university as the Registrar for three and a half years before joining APHRC. Cavens is motivated by service to humanity, research work and seeing local solutions for community problems through research and innovation.
