Dr Abimbola is a Lecturer in the Family Medicine Unit, Department of Community Medicine, College of Medicine, University of Ibadan (UI), Nigeria She is Honorary, Consultant Family Physician in the Department Family Medicine, University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan, Nigeria. She is a graduate of College of Medicine, of UI, Nigeria, a Fellow of West Africa College of Physician(WACP),Faculty of Family Medicine,2010. She has Masters (MSc.) in Child and Adolescent Mental Health (CAMH), from the Center for CAMH,UI. Nigeria,2016. She is course coordinator for undergraduate Family Medicine in the College of Medicine, UI, coordinates Elective postings and research for undergraduate medical students of the College of Medicine, UI. She supervises Master students of the Faculty of Public Health of the College of Medicine, UI. Nigeria. She trains Resident doctors for the Faculty of Family Medicine, WACP and supervises Dissertations for the Family Medicine Fellowship of the WACP. Her area of special interest in Family Medicine research, includes research on Family dynamics, behavioural problems and Psycho-social model of health care, which reflects in her publications. She is involved in provision of primary care at community level within South-West (SW) region of Nigeria. She is one of Cohort 1 fellows of the NIH-Medical Education Partnership Initiative of Nigeria for Junior Faculty (MEPI- J) for the University of Ibadan Nigeria,2017-2019. She is involved in Mentor Research Training with Mentors from Faculty of Clinical Sciences, College of Medicine, UI, Nigeria and the Center for Global Health ,Feinberg School of Medicine, Northwestern University, Chicago, USA. She has held administrative post in some of her professional organization inclusive of the Medical and Dental Consultant Association of Nigeria (MDCAN). She is the current financial secretary of the MDCAN, UCH Ibadan, and had been the Public Relation Officer(PRO) and Treasurer of another MDCAN branch within SW Nigeria. She is a member of the Nigeria Medical Association(NMA), Medical Woman Association of Nigeria (MWAN), Society of Family Physician of Nigeria(SOFPON), and the World Organization of National Colleges and Academies of family physicians (WONCA). She had been committee chair and member of her professional bodies, for many purposes, including development of clinical protocol and training curriculum for Acute Medicine and Palliative medicine She is a Cohort 9 fellow of CARTA, 2019 Her philosophy in life is: ” if you can think it, you can do it”………by God’s grace.
