Bolutife Olusanya


Bolutife is an Associate Professor in the Department of Ophthalmology, College of Medicine University of Ibadan. He also works as a Consultant Ophthalmologist at the University College Hospital, Ibadan. He teaches undergraduate medical students during their clinical postings in Ophthalmology. He also teaches postgraduate students who have enrolled for Master of Science degree in Ophthalmology as well as resident doctors undergoing postgraduate fellowship training in Ophthalmology. He holds a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria as well as a Master’s degree in Epidemiology and Medical Statistics. He is a fellow of the West African College of Surgeons and the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria. He has a keen interest in clinical and community-based research in ophthalmology. Specifically, his research interests lie in the areas of childhood blindness and eye diseases in children as well as epidemiology and management of strabismus. He has a passion for research that generates and disseminates knowledge necessary for evidence based medical practice. He is also interested in the effective translation of research findings into policies that impact positively on the society at large. He likes playing lawn tennis and chess.
