A Lecturer and Community/Public Health Specialist in the Department of Nursing Science, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife, Osun State Nigeria. Esther teaches undergraduate courses, both at the Departmental and Faculty levels of the College of Health Sciences. Her background training in Nursing Science affords her a sound understanding of the subject both in theory and practice. She obtained her B.Sc., M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in Nursing from Obafemi Awolowo University, in 2006, 2013 and 2018 respectively. Prior to joining the Department of Nursing Science, Esther worked as a Nurse Instructor in a mission school of nursing for one year during her National Youth Service Corps (NYSC). She also worked as a Volunteer Clinical Nurse for six months in the same school. She joined the services of Medical and Health Services of Obafemi Awolowo University as a Clinical Nursing Officer in 2010 where she worked for four years before transferring to the Department of Nursing Science of the same institution in 2014 upon completion of her Master’s Degree Programme, to join the academic workforce. Her post PhD aspiration is to become an erudite teacher, a good mentor, and a seasoned researcher. Her research interests are in promoting the sexual and reproductive health of women with special focus on prevention of cervical cancer, and health system strengthening of preventive services delivery. Hence, she plans to be involved in networking and collaborative research projects that are geared towards proffering solution to prevailing sexual and reproductive health problems in the resource-constrained society.
