About
Folake teaches, conducts research, provides oral health care service to the community and trains dental students, medical students, community health care practitioners and dentists at both postgraduate and residency training levels. Since October 2015, she has been a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Periodontology and Community Dentistry, University of Ibadan, Nigeria. She was appointed to the same department as a Lecturer/Honorary Consultant in 2012. Folake holds a Master of Dental Science Degree from the University of Ibadan (2007) with her dissertation based on traditional oral health care practices. She graduated with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) in 2003 (University of Ibadan) and had her residency training in Community Dentistry at the University College Hospital, Ibadan. She was certified as a fellow after passing the final examinations of both the West African College of Surgeons and the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria in the specialty of Community Dentistry in April and May 2012 respectively. Her research focuses on school oral health promotion, oral health related quality of life, epidemiology of oral diseases and the oral health of underserved communities.
