Biography

A Biostatistician at the Perinatal HIV Research Unit (PHRU), Chris Hani Academic Hospital, University of the Witwatersrand. Kennedy’s duties involve conceptualisation of research studies, designing of studies, statistical analysis of trials including interim reporting and manuscript writing. Additionally, he prepares data safety and monitoring board trial reports; sits on three international data safety and monitoring board committees as a biostatistician; and analyses and prepares clinical trial study reports for drug registration. As a joint appointee of the School of Public Health at the University of the Witwatersrand as a Senior Lecturer, Kennedy teaches and supervises postgraduate students studying biostatistics. Other duties include involvement in the writing of grants and mentoring early career researchers at PHRU in writing their first author academic publications.
