Oluwatosin Eunice OLORUNMOTENI is a Lecturer at the Obafemi Awolowo University and a Consultant Paediatric Neurologist at the Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospitals’ Complex (OAUTHC). She has strong passion for children with neurodevelopmental disabilities and sleep disorders. She runs the Paediatric Neurology clinic at the Ife Hospital Unit of the OAUTHC where she evaluates the children with various neurodevelopmental and sleep disorders. Her research interest is mainly in the field of Paediatric Sleep and Neuro-developmental paediatrics where she has conducted some epidemiological studies to elucidate the burden and contributory factors to sleep problems in Nigerian children and adolescents. She has also published papers on some other neurological problems in Nigerian children such as cerebral malaria, brain abscess, stroke among others. She hopes to conduct more epidemiological studies to further elucidate the burden and contributory factors to sleep problems in Nigerian children and adolescents. She is also interested in exploring possible associations between sleep and development, nutrition, environmental toxins as well as genetics and their role in the aetiology and management of Paediatric neurobehavioral disorders. In addition, she hopes to continue to collaborate with other colleagues involved in research on neurodevelopmental disorders to conduct further research such as implementation research involving the development of successful interventions to improve sleep and neurological wellbeing of children and adolescents. She has received a good number of fellowship and travel awards related to neurodevelopmental disorders and sleep medicine. Furthermore, as a member of the Sleep Research Team in her home institution, she hopes to conduct more multidisciplinary clinical and translational research in Neurodevelopmental Paediatrics, Epidemiology and Paediatric sleep medicine.
