Sulaimon started his academic career in the Department of Demography and Social Statistics, Obafemi Awolowo University, Nigeria. He obtained his PhD in the same field in 2013. He had his postdoctoral training at Warwick Medical School, University of Warwick, United Kingdom between 2015 and 2016. His research interest is in child health and he have published articles in reputable journals in this area. One of such articles is titled “Incomplete Childhood Immunization in Nigeria: A Multilevel Analysis of Individual and Contextual Factors” featured in BMC Public Health. Findings from this journal article were quoted by BBC News. He has had the opportunity of receiving training on analytical and research skills, particularly during his postdoctoral training, in prestigious institutions around the world which include Brown University, United States, University of Cambridge, University College London, University of Bristol and Imperial College, United Kingdom.
