Biography
Itumeleng Tsatsi is an occupational therapist and Lecturer in the Department of Occupational Therapy at the University of the Witwatersrand, where she focuses on mental health, occupational justice, and innovation in health sciences education.
She holds a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science in Occupational Therapy. She has received several recognitions, including being named among the Mail & Guardian 200 Young South Africans (2018) and News24’s 100 Young Mandelas of the Future (2019). In 2024, she was selected for the Wits Female Academic Leadership Fellowship. She serves on the OTARG Executive Committee, the editorial board of the South African Journal of Occupational Therapy, and is the founder and host of the Occupational Perspective podcast, which amplifies global voices shaping the future of occupational therapy.
Her doctoral research explores the integration of artificial intelligence in health sciences education to improve clinical reasoning among health science students working with culturally diverse populations in South Africa.
