Biography

Mphatso is a physician and clinical epidemiologist with expertise in maternal and child health, infectious diseases, and pharmacokinetic studies. He has experience in clinical research, trial coordination, and participant safety monitoring, and currently serves as Principal Investigator of the CABMILK study, investigating the transfer of long-acting cabotegravir into breast milk and its implications for infant safety.

He holds a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from Kamuzu University of Health Sciences, Malawi, and a Master of Science in Clinical Epidemiology with distinction from Stellenbosch University. His research interests include HIV, malaria prevention, pharmacokinetics in pregnancy and lactation, maternal and child health, and implementation research to improve integration of novel HIV prevention technologies into maternal-child health services.
