Regina Makuluni

Biography

Regina is an epidemiologist with a professional background in nursing and midwifery, currently based at the Malawi Liverpool Wellcome Research Programme (MLW), affiliated with Kamuzu University of Health Sciences. She manages a cluster-randomised trial evaluating a multicomponent intervention to reduce infection-related maternal mortality and severe morbidity.

Regina holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Midwifery (BScNM) and a Master of Science in Epidemiology. Her work focuses on advancing maternal and newborn health through implementation science, translating evidence-based practices into improved care, and enhancing the quality of care for women and newborns in Malawi and across sub-Saharan Africa.
