Biography

Walter is a veterinary public health researcher and laboratory scientist with experience in food safety, zoonotic diseases, and antimicrobial resistance surveillance in low- and middle-income country settings. He serves as a technician in the Food Hygiene Laboratory, Department of Biosecurity, Ecosystems and Veterinary Public Health at the College of Veterinary Medicine, Animal Resources and Biosecurity, Makerere University, where he supports laboratory diagnostics, research, and teaching activities.

He holds a Bachelor of Biomedical Laboratory Technology and a Master of Veterinary Preventive Medicine in Field Epidemiology, both from Makerere University. His research interests focus on mycotoxin contamination, food safety, antimicrobial resistance, zoonotic disease surveillance, and predictive modelling within One Health systems.
